Class Description: The Village of Manlius Tae Kwon Do Club practices the Chung Do Kwan style of Tae Kwon Do as brought to the United States by Grandmaster Duk Sung Son.  Class is taught by Paul Rogers, a 2nd degree black belt student of Grandmaster Son’s, and is overseen by Grandmaster Pete Michaelson.  This is a traditional style of Tae Kwon Do that is a great form of exercise and teaches effective self defense.  Chung Do Kwan is based on six core tenets of Speed, Balance, Power, Focus, Control, and Relaxation that are developed by the activities that we practice in class.  The class is broken down into a short run and stretching to warm up, basic techniques, forms, free style sparring, three step sparring and finally a warm down.  There is no offensive contact during the sparring sessions to reinforce the focus and control aspects of the martial art, as well as for the safety of all students.  Please join us for a fun and exciting class.

Village Parks and Buildings

Please call the Clerk's Office at 315-682-9171 for more information about reserving space in any of our facilities.

Village Centre - The Village Centre located at 1 Arkie Albanese Ave., features an indoor gymnasium and an auditorium that can be rented by non-profit organizations or used to host village sponsored events. The well-known Swan Pond, a softball and soccer field, the amphitheater, and a small playground can all be found at Village Centre.  After spending time at the Centre, walk down to the Centre Pond where children and seniors can fish on certain days of the week with a permit from the clerk’s office.  Centre Pond has a beautiful path around it that will lead you to the Village Swan Pond.  Come and meet Faye and Manny, our resident swans.  If you want to feed the ducks there are feeders available to the public.

Mill Run Park - Located at the very end of Mill Street, Mill Run Park offers a large variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. Book a family get-together at the Whorrall Pavilions, bring your fishing pole, enjoy our playground, play volleyball, horseshoes, Bocce Ball, or softball - or just enjoy the spectacular scenery that Mill Run Park has to offer.

Perry Springs Park and Fish Hatchery - Located on Park Drive in the middle of the village, Perry Springs Park offers hiking trails and a beautiful pond where you can sit and relax.  Additionally, Perry Springs is home to the Village Fish Hatchery which offers a unique view of different varieties of trout in different stages of growth. Come feed our fish on a Saturday morning and get a firsthand look at the inner-workings of the hatchery. Click here for a copy of the Perry Springs Flier.

Recreational Building - Located at 6 Stickley Drive, this building is a perfect place to hold a small civic meeting or a large family party. With two rooms of different sizes, the Rec. Building can be used by the public for a variety of different events as well as host the village's ever-popular summer playground program. With an extensive group of ball-fields just outside the door, as well as a covered pavilion, the Rec. Building is a perfect venue for an indoor or outdoor celebration. Please click here for rental form and rates.
